Pink & Black

A current embroidery work-in-progress. I am using two shades of pink (DMC cotton) and satin stitching over the brocade pattern on a piece of black fabric (which came from someone’s scrap stash and is probably made from dead dinosaur). I toyed with accenting the satin stitch with silver (in the middle of the figures) but decided I didn’t like that. I do plan to outline the figures in silver (double running stitch). I’ll probably also accent with beads (pearls and crystals?) but haven’t entirely decided how I want to do that yet (suggestions welcome!). Eventually, I will use this as the front bodice panel and sleeves for a late 15th century Italian gown. (Click on any individual slide to go to the full album/larger size photos.)
